Colouring Heaven has been nominated in the Best Licensed Written, Listening or Learning Range category for its Aardman colouring magazines, the first of which came out during lockdown 2020.
Ian Downes from Start Licensing reveals why they decided to nominate the collaboration for the award: “We entered the Anthem product into the Licensing Awards as first and foremost we thought it was a high quality product that used Aardman’s characters really well. As a licensing agent we are always looking for new ways to use the characters we represent and Anthem’s expertise in the colouring space appealed to us.
“Aardman fans also seem to be fans of art, crafts and colouring. We are delighted to see the magazine nominated in the publishing category at the Licensing Awards. This is a competitive category that includes books and book publishers but we felt that Anthem’s Aardman Collection stood out as a creative use of IP, a high quality product and a fresh use of famous characters.”
Colouring Heaven and Aardman face stiff competition in the category, with other finalists including the Baby Shark Range from Centum Books, Mr. Men Little Miss At Work from Egmont, Paddington – The Adventure Series from HarperCollins Children’s Books and the Peppa Pig Range from Penguin Random House.
Winners of The Licensing Awards 2020 will be announced at a digital ceremony on Wednesday 16 December and we wish all our fellow finalists good luck!
